Living the Life in Huntington Beach

We love where we live!! We have 3 favorite beaches we like to go to and this is one of them - Huntington State Beach off Magnolia. The kids love to jump in the waves, play in the sand.....and eat snacks. It would pretty much rock their world is I forgot snacks - trust me!
Summer is our water girl and will get into the water no matter how cold it is. Here she is taking a break before she heads on in again. They are finally at an age where I can enjoy just watching them play - it's so nice and so fun to see them running around having a good time.

Long Beach - Queen Mary

Mom helped Brian with the kids while I was on my sisters trip. When I got back we wanted to go do something fun so we took the kids on a harbor cruise in Long Beach. The cruise was about an hour and it took us along the harbor. It was pretty interesting and fun to be out on the water.A flash of dimples from Summer:

We loved looking at the harbor seals.
Below is a shot of the Queen Mary:

Afterward we headed home along highway 1. We stopped and had some burgers at In n Out and then finished the drive home looking at the views of the ocean. I'm so lucky to have the world's best mom who is always up for some fun and always so good and helpful with my kids. THANKS MOM!!

Cancun Sisters Trip - June 2010

Carol, Becky and I went to Cancun for our "Sisters Trip" in June 2010. We had a blast. Our hotel was perfect. We booked the Club Room and had use of a 2nd pool, free breakfast and a snack/happy hour every night. We were at the end of the hotel strip and it was nice a quiet - just what we were looking for! Our first night we dressed up and went to a nice dinner. Carol and Becky surprised me by sneaking in some candles for the waiters to put on my cake. I think the whole restaurant staff sang happy birthday to me - it was fun.
The hotel also knew it was my birthday so surprised us with a cake in our room, when we got home - it was sooo yummy!! What a great way to start out the trip.
We spent lots of time lounging in these chairs, right in front of the ocean. As you can see, we practically had the place to ourselves - it was awesome. We took a bus into a shopping area several times so we could go out to dinner, go to the movies, shop, etc. We also did a snorkeling tour, zipline, and lots and lots of lounging, relaxing, laughing, chatting and just having a good time together.

Cancun Sisters Trip

We loved our hotel! They had an awesome breakfast and in the afternoons they had snacks (really a full meal) and drinks. The cans of soda's were pretty pricey so we always ordered a few at the happy hour when they were free. There were two pools too. Check out how quiet it was...no one in the lounge chairs behind us! The water was the most amazing clear, blue water ever. It was exactly what I hoped it would be. We could stay in the water all day because the temperature was like bath water!
We did a zipline and cave tour. The zip line was fun but the cave tour was sketchy at best. We were crawling in water in caves and I know there was bat poop in the water. Bats flew overhead a few times, etc. I know that in Playa del Carmen they have cave tours that are nicer...maybe next time..

Cancun Continued

More fun on the sisters trip! Carol and I found some cool looking shells and spent alot of time in the water just chatting and enjoying the goreous clear water. Becky looks like a movie star while lunching at our hotel. Check out the gorgeous back ground, it doesn't even look real!
This guy was just hanging around our hotel.

This was by far my most favorite Sisters trip. Thanks Sisters for making my big birthday so awesome - you guys are the best!
