June 2010 - Ben's Birthday Present

We bought Ben a bike for his birthday. Can you tell he's excited? He calls it his "Jet" since that is they style of the bike. He loves riding bikes and his other was so small so it was time to upgrade.

June 2010 - Happy Birthday Ben!!

We had a birthday party at the park for Ben's 6th birthday. Here's a picture of all of his best buddies: Park parties are the best: Pizza for the kids, salad for the mom's and lots of yummy cupcakes!
Ben wanted cupcakes this year so I took the easy route and bought them at Costco - they are HUGE - think cupcakes on steriods. But they are also really yummy!

Summer and Peyton eating and playing with their cupcakes. Peytie is Summer's best buddy. They have known each other since they were 3 months old.

Ben was so psyched to get this Iron Man car! He had a fun birthday! I can't believe he is 6!!!!

May 2010 - Summer's Stuffies

Summer loves her stuffies. She decided they all needed to take a nap (well specific ones anyway): Making sure her giraffe is nice and comfie:
And the rest of her current favorites have their own big pillow and blankie as well.

May 2010 The Big Orange Balloon Ride

We went to the Great Park in Irvine to ride the Big Orange Balloon. It's free and a fun way to spend the morning. Ben loved every minute of it.
Cool views

Brian had as much fun as Ben.

Summer was trouble (as usual). We were supposed to keep the weight somewhat equally distributed. Little missy moo kept wanting to cruise around, requiring others to move out of the way so it got a little rocky a few times. Troublemaker!

May 2010 School Program

The kindergartener's had an end of the school year program; singing a bunch of pariotic songs. We were given a practice CD which we played in the car when we ran errands. They all did a great job.
Ben and I joined a team from my work to help raise money for the Arthritis Foundation. We participated in the walk as well. Ben was a trooper and did the entire walk. It was supposed to be 3 miles but it felt shorter to me....(probably a good thing with a 5 year old!) After the walk we checked out some of the exhibits, including this race car:
And who can't resist a chance to climb on a firetruck?

Ben was in heaven!

And to top it off he had his face painted with a pirate theme!

May 2010 FRIES!!!

Would you like fries with that?

May 2010 Bath Time

They thought this was so funny - go figure:

May 2010 Irvine Park

We love to hang out at Irvine Park. On this day we brought a picnic lunch along with frisbee. Ben and Brian had a blast with the frisbee.
Summer ran around and tried to catch the frisbee as well.

And then off to the little petting zoo. They have brushes for the goats so the kids have fun following the goats around and brushing them.

Or petting them:

May 2010 Movie Time

Watching movies from inside a tent - what could be better?

May 2010 - Mother's Day at Eader

I went to Ben's class to celebrate Mother's Day. We had donuts with water and coffee and we made a little craft together. It was fun to spend some time together.

April 2010 - Centennial Farm

Summer's favorite animal to visit at Centennial Farm are the pigs - especially the piglets:
She spent alot of time petting them, that's for sure.
They had a great time - now off to wash and sanitize those hands!!

April 2010 - Centennial Farm

We like to go to Centennial Farm every once in a while. It's at the Orange County Fairground and it's free. In the spring there are a lot of baby animals so it's more fun than usual.
I think Ben liked the goats the best.

But the goats definitely liked Summer the best because they could easily nibble on her dress.

Awwww....so cute.

Good Morning - April 2010

There's nothing like a big cup of hot chocolate on a cool morning! The mug is almost as big as Summer's head!
Time for a goofy picture:

The Bedtime Routine

The bedtime routine is NOT going too well with Summer right now. I think it's because I started back to work full time and so they take a solid 2 hour nap at her preschool. We put her in bed at least 10 times before she will finally stay in her bed. But one night we put her to bed once and thought she was asleep in her bed. Instead, this is where we found her: Awwww....she made her own little bed in the hallway.

Race at the Park

Brian wanted to run a 5 mile race so we joined him - to watch and to play at the park. Summer loves to drag around sticks and thought this one was very cool.
Ben is awesome at the monkey bars. He loves them and is so fast going across!

Summer loves her swing!! We were having so much fun we missed seeing Brian cross the finish line - whoops! That's what he gets for being so fast!!

Easter Morning

Easter Morning, they were so cute and excited to see what the Easter Bunny brought. Lots of candy, a remote control car for Ben and pretty pony stuff for Summer.
And....peeps! They saw them at Target and couldn't wait to eat some peeps. I don't think it was really worth the wait...they basically each ate one and were done with it. On to bigger and better things - like chocolate easter bunnies - yum!!

Easter Eve

On Easter Eve the kids put their newly dyed eggs into their baskets and set them out for the Easter Bunny. They were so excited that I couldn't get them to both look and smile into the camera at the same time....but they do look cute anyway. So I told them to give me a goofy smile and this is what I got:
