Emily told me about these cupcakes so I had to give them a try. Mine didn't turn out as professional looking as Emily's but they are still cute. I think part of the problem was that it was 85 degrees outside....and close to that inside my house since we don't have A/C (the theory around here is that you don't need A/C due to being only a few miles from the ocean....not too sure I agree on that one). The kids loved them and we will most likely make this a tradition because according to Ben, "Cupcakes are my (his) FAVORITE food>"

Messy Girl! October 2008
Summer is my messy child. If she sees a mud puddle she heads straight for it. She has the ability to get dirty when there is seemingly no way possible. Knowing this, I'm still wondering why I left her alone with a bowl of yogurt. I just wanted to check my email and she was being so quiet and (at the time) so intent on carefully eating her yogurt. I was only out of the room 5 minutes MAX and this is the damage:
After what seemed like hours, I was finallya ble to get everything cleaned up. I am sure curious about how many hours I've spent wiping down highchairs....Anyway, nothing a nice bath and clean clothes can't fix. Right?!
Soccor - October 2008
Ben played soccor with his preschool class this year. They compete against other preschools in the school district. He loves it! He doesn't actually kick the ball much, he tends to just run after the kids who are closest to the ball. It's pretty entertaining to watch.
Summer is usually pretty busy doing her own thing which involves eating snacks in order to keep her from chasing Ben on the field. She likes to yell out, "Go Benny", which is pretty cute.
Ridgecrest - October 2008
We headed to Ridgecrest for a weekend in October so I could attend my High School Reunion. My 20 year reunion to be precise. How can that be? I feel like I just barely hit 30....and prefer to think I'm more like 29! Anyway, the kids had a great time going on train rides in Mormor and Pa's backyard.
The kids had so much fun riding the train and playing around the fish pond. Summer loved feeding the fish and she wanted to pet them so bad that she eventually fell into the pond - head first! Fortunately Pa was right by her side and pulled her out quickly. I really wish I had a picture of the whole scene.

Ridgecrest - October 2008
For some reason, Summer loves birds....ducks, owls, parrots, seagulls, you name it. So as soon as she saw this little stuffed bird it became her new best friend. She was having a good time putting it down for it's nap, on Lily's little dog bed.
More fun with the parrot....and Lily's bed was the perfect size for Summer to lounge around on.
